Acknowledge God

1 Chronicles 28: 9   NIV

“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father,

and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind,

for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive

behind the thoughts.  If you seek Him, He will be found by you;

but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.”

In this passage it is quite clear that God knows our intentions, motives and our heart. He knew David’s as well as Solomon’s and He knows your heart and motives too. We cannot hide anything from the Lord, as King David tried with Bathsheba.

God instructed Solomon with the following four points:

*Acknowledge God

*Serve Him wholeheartedly

*Serve Him with devotion and a willing mind

*Seek Him and He will be found

As Solomon obeyed and followed God’s instruction above , he prospered and tasted success but as soon as Solomon turned away from these key instructions, he suffered loss.

The same is true for us today. God did not place these instructions in the Bible to fill up the pages.  If we will heed and do what God requires of us, daily, we too will taste God’s best.

It is important though to note the following:

*We are to serve God with a ‘whole heart’ not ‘half-a-heart’ (all or nothing  Revelation 3:16)

*We are to serve God with a willing mind, not out of compulsion or habit (Isaiah 1:19, 2 Cor. 8:12)

*We need to seek Him not wait for God to seek us (Deut 4:29, Psalm 27:8, Isaiah 55:6)

As we are about to enter 2014, let us remember each waking moment to seek our Father, to seek the Holy Spirit with all of our heart and acknowledge Him before others.
“Father God, in Jesus Name, we pray and ask You to forgive us where we have not been obedient to 1 Chronicles 28:9. Father we repent for not acknowledging You, for not serving You with all of our heart, for not serving You with full devotion and a willing mind.  We ask that You please fill us with Your Holy Spirit, afresh and anew,  to turn our hearts back to You in true worship and fellowship as we seek You daily. Thank You precious Lord for Your grace and loving kindness that is new every morning. We love You, we praise You, we adore You, in Jesus wonderful Name, Amen’

Be blessed and live fully for the Father
