What an unusual word in the dictionary simply meaning: a beautiful thinking, a well mind. In the Word of God we are reminded to ‘take every thought captive’ and
‘And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.’
‘Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.’
‘And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.’
Thus it seems that the mind plays an extremely important role in our life and our worhsip unto the Lord.
Finally, Paul the Apostle tells us what we should focus our mind on, so we may have a ‘well mind with beautiful thinking’:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Perhaps a good sign to put up where we can see it daily will be:
‘Mind your mind…’
