Do We Care Enough?

I read about a tragic domestic violence death wherein a seemingly happily married couple lost their lives. A relationship was brutally halted from reaching its full and intended purpose. The possibilities of two lives that may have had more living and growing left, now no longer exist. What a tragedy and one that may have been prevented.

Some said they always seemed so happy and content. The perfect couple.
Too often we assume that couples/married partners are happy and in a perfect relationship. We live in a society that has almost mastered the art of hiding feelings, concealing problems. Is it the pace of life or have we just become insensitive to others’ needs around us or even those of our own family and households?

Perhaps more family tragedies can be prevented if we paid closer attention to warning signs. Like the human body  that will more often than not give a warning sign when something is wrong internally, likewise, a relationship has telltale signs that cracks are starting to form that may lead to serious and fatal damage.

Never ignore warning signs. They are there for a reason. And never be ashamed or afraid to seek help. It is not a sign of weakness but rather of strength and courage.

Stay blessed
